Visit to Dresden, Germany ~

I walked in the streets of Dresden, rebuilt now and magnificent after being bombed by our planes and British planes in 1945, marvelling at its new beauty — but still could hear the low hum of the bombers in the distance, coming in from the west.

My son is preparing his middle school final exams and I am getting a good review of the 2nd world war. It's been on my mind a lot lately. The last century was certainly one of upheaval and turmoil, but is this one any better? It doesn't look like it, does it?

For me, rebuilt Dresden has become one of the most beautiful cities in Germany.
