Charles, I don't know what any of us could do as a pilot in such a situation, other than to stay calm. When the end comes, it comes. We've always known it would, right? We will certainly try to correct any problem, but indeed, "the inevitable is inevitable," said (perhaps) Lazarus the second time he died.

According to the "little Black Box" recorder, my husband did. Apparently they just try to correct the situation till the very end.
