Recital for Baby Elias ~
As I was playing the piano this morning I was thinking that the next time the little fellow comes I'm gonna' pull his crib right up close to the piano and play those Bach chorals and variations I was just playing. Those pure sounds he has got to hear, to remind him of where he came from.

Lovely thought Charles. Oh how I wish I had learned to play the piano. I took lessons for 5 years but I never learned to read music because I was too terrified of Sister Mary whatever to be able to function properly. I used practice and play by ear. So I have a very well developed ear and a natural capacity to pick out the notes and chords (even on the guitar). Maybe when I retire...
