I look into faces and find that the most beautiful are those that have suffered most.

Mercy is indeed beautiful. It is why I was always so thunderstruck when any of "my" beloved old folks told me how old they were. No way! I would always have guessed 20 years less, and I marveled after a while that old people can appear so beautiful. Youth has a first-bloom wondrous beauty, and even decadence can be attractive --for about an hour. But the face of suffering means a growth in compassion, and hence, Mercy is present. Mercy is another word for love.
