Butler, Pennsylvania

Drove by the beautiful home we lived in for so many years. What is it like inside now? Does Mother's, does Dad's spirit still linger there? Should I knock at the door and see?

Yes, Charles, you should stop...I know I did at my family's home last time I was in Butler. But don't be disappointed if the visit doesn't meet your expectations, and if you're like me...there's bound be a more than a little melanchaly (sic) connected to your tour through the family manse.

...and even now, what, 40+ years later, I can remember being inside that elegant living room; the memory is one of warmth, luxury (without the slightest hint of anything garish) and stability; sorry, I was too young then to recall love, although, just now, the picture of your mom and her rosy cheeks just popped into my head.

By all means, Charles, knock on the door and explain to whomever answers who you are and why you want to come in!!
