Caught in the swirl of throbbing Philadelphia I thought about the quiet peace of my Black Forest village where, devoid of distractions, I feel myself so much closer to those things in life that really matter.

Amen! Oh, it sounds lovely. Your Black Forest home, I mean. I think I understand; this will sound thankless, tho' it isn't, but sometimes to go back out into the world seems a doubled exile. Yet somehow, it must be that we who must go, are made the better for it.
